Combining traditional healing approaches with contemporary health science

What is Naturopathy

A Naturopath combines traditional healing approaches with contemporary health science knowledge and treats the body as a whole - body, mind and spirit. Practice emphasises disease prevention and healthy living and believes that in many circumstances, the body has the ability to restore balance using natural methods.

If health is “the state of being free from illness or injury”, then I would have to say most of us forget about our health in day-to-day life!  A Naturopath supports you in times of illness or injury, but also assists in prevention and maintaining your health – it is not the disease that is treated but you, the whole person.  Whether your illness is acute (short-term), or chronic (long-term), a Naturopath works with you to understand and address the underlying causes of illness and set you up to achieve optimal health.

Our focus

OUR FOCUS

You are a unique individual with a unique genetic predisposition, environment and consequently unique nutritional status in your body.  This is where Naturopathy is so helpful, because there are so many ways to assess your health and your treatment plan and prescription is uniquely designed as a result.

A consultation comprises an extensive information gathering of your health past and present, family history and other environmental and lifestyle factors which may be of influence. Depending on your health status, various assessment tools may be used such as functional pathology tests, iridology, dietary analysis. You can expect your story to be heard, and your treatment plan may be in the form of dietary advice, lifestyle advice, nutritional supplements, and herbal medicine.
